Hello G2D Members,
We are just in the process of wrapping up the official release for G2D 3.0 R3
Some of you may have started to notice the addition of an R3 to some of the utilities
and other programs, this is simply the new naming convention for our engine. These revisions will go up to 20, and then the next version starts. So currently we are at
G2D 3.0 R3.
The next release would be G2D 3.0 R4, and the next would be G2D3.0 R5..
And eventually we will make it to G2D 4.0 R1 and so on...
This allows us a bit of an easier task in indicating what is compatible with what and also stops the small confusing increments like 3.0.1.. 3.0.11. 3.0.1.11.. Our updates are always massive! they deserver more.
So, boring stuff out of the way...
Whats left to do? Not much. The only things left are cosmetic (GUI stuff) and 1 more think that needs to be coded, which is the ISO
paperdoll attack frames showing on other clients. Attack frames are working now thanks xaden, so it's just the paperdoll that we need to be seeing on other clients and with any luck MutantX might have that done soon.
We could release it now, this is not out of the question - if you are not PVP'ing you wouldnt notice the ISO paperdoll attack frames not showing on other clients - but we are so close there is no point rushing now, you can all sit back and relax and just wait for it, hopefully it wont be long.
I will be including about 15-20 fully animated sprites in the release along with the tiles that Reiner Tiles that Ambard has compiled and let us use for the release. I will also be putting out a bare bones version, which will have zero everything... no items, no maps, nothing - it will be a totally fresh version, not even a demo map. It's download size will be dramatically reduced to around 28mb (from 110mb)
I can't give an exact ETA yet, but hopefully by week's end.
